Parineeti Chopra is set to star in Imtiaz Ali’s highly anticipated film Chamkila. This will be the actress’s first collaboration with Imtiaz Ali, and we’re confident that it’ll be one to keep an eye on. Due to this major development, Parineeti would have to exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, due to substantial date conflicts between the two movies.
A trade source reveals, “Parineeti is going to work with Imtiaz Ali for the first time in her career as the heroine in the ace director’s next, Chamkila. It is a huge moment for her because she has always wanted to creatively collaborate with the visionary director.”
The informer adds, “She has to get into prep immediately for the shoot, and unfortunately due to this development, she won’t be able to shoot for Animal as there is a major overlap of dates between the two films. So, RK and Pari fans will have to wait a little bit longer for a new project to bring them together on screen.”
Details, on the other hand, are being kept under wraps. Imtiaz Ali is reportedly working on a biopic about Punjabi folk musician Amar Singh Chamkila. The filmmaker is said to have met Jaiman Chamkila, the late Punjabi singer’s son, and his wife Amanjot Kaur. While several actors were competing for the lead role in the biopic, Diljit Dosanjh has reportedly joined the cast.
