Vivek Agnihotri sends legal notice to West Bengal’s CM Mamta Banerjee; asks her to prove ‘The Kashmir Files’ is a propaganda film

The Kashmir Files, directed by Vivek Agnihotri, has been in the news ever since its release. Now once again the film has come into the limelight, when West Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee called for a press conference and put a ban on the recently released controversial film ‘The Kerala Story’, and also raised questions regarding ‘The Kashmir Files’.

Now Vivek Agnihotri has sent legal notice to Mamata Banerjee, with regards to her recent statements. Vivek Agnihotri shared the screenshots of the legal notice and wrote, “I have, alongwith @AbhishekOfficl
& Pallavi Joshi, sent a LEGAL NOTICE to the Chief Minister, Bengal @MamataOfficial for her false & highly defamatory statements made with malafide intention to defame us & our films #TheKashmirFiles & upcoming 2024 film #TheDelhiFiles.”

In a recent media interaction Vivek Agnihotri made it clear that he will take a strict legal action against anyone who calls ‘The Kashmir Files’ a propaganda film.

While speaking with media portal ANI, Vivek Agnihotri said, “Yesterday, Honorable Chief Minister of Bengal, Mrs. Mamata Banerjee criticized the Kashmir files and my next film which is on the genocide of Bengal. She said that BJP sponsors me to make Kashmir files or to make the next film. This is a very hurtful thing affecting my mind, affecting my employment and a blatant lie. This is a baseless thing, which Mamta ji has said in order to please her vote bank under the political-kill agenda. For this, I, my producer Abhishek Agarwal ji, Pallavi Joshi ji have sent this legal notice to them. We have asked her to answer what is the fact of what she has said. Otherwise it is defamation. In my view, this is a statement given to affect the livelihood of a man”.
