After months of hue and cry the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film called Padmavat finally released. With so much of drama surrounding the film, the movie was finally released amidst huge uproar and buzz in the media for the obvious reasons. As the film PadMan’s release was averted, it has received a good collection on the day one. Though the terror loomed at most of the theatres in the vulnerable states like Rajasthan, Haryana, Gujarat and UP, the audience seemed affected in these states while the other states enjoyed a smooth sail on the first day. So needless to say that the prediction of most of the experts giving a collection of get a double figure collection on day one proved right.
The film has embarked with a mixed review with some reviewers giving lower rating as 1.5 while some even went on to give 4.5 star for the film. But the buzz has made all the difference regardless of the ratings the film has bagged by critics. As per reports, the first day box office collection for Padmavat netted to around 15 crores, which is a decent amount considering the working day and the threat looming over the theatres. The solo release also has helped the film to garner a good collection while the buzz even prompted many particularly the young crowd to catch the film despite a few hurdles.
Since 26th January happens to be a holiday, it will help the film scale higher score over the box office. As per reports, the box office collection for the second day and the first weekend collection would soar in the coming days. Thus one can expect not less than 25 crore on the second day and by the end of the first weekend, the film would certainly going to enter into the hundred crore club. So, despite all the political mess, the film faired on day one and it will continue to do good business making 300 plus within 2-3 weeks.
