On the anniversary of their first film together, Bansi Birju, Amitabh Bachchan shared a throwback picture with wife Jaya Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan are one of the most loved power couples in Bollywood history. Their relationship began as a business partnership, but it grew into a lovely love tale that culminated in a wonderful marriage. In many ways, the couple, who married in 1973, is the ideal relationship. They have never been afraid to declare their love for each other, no matter where they are.

The Big B recently reminisced on his early days in the industry and his first project with his wife while on a nostalgia binge. He wrote, “…Our first film together .. ‘Bansi aur Birju’ … released Sept 1, 1970 …that’s 49 years ago !!!”, along with a black-and-white still from the film.

Prakash Verma directed the romantic film Bansi Birju, which featured the future couple for the first time onscreen. It was the beginning of a lovely working relationship between the two, and the would-be-future pair went on to work together on a number of films, including Zanjeer, Abhimaan, Silsila, Chupke Chupke, Sholay, and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.

Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan are one of Bollywood’s most ideal couples, and everyone idolises them. Their family life has also set an example for many, with Abhishek Bachchan carrying on their acting tradition and Shweta Nanda creating her own path.

Amitabh Bachchan is currently hosting the current season of Kaun Banega Crorepati, and he has a number of films in the works. The first is Jhund, which is still on the lookout for a release date. Following that, he has Brahmastra opposite Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, for which he just has a few days of shooting left. He has Mayday with Ajay Devgn in the works, as well as Vikas Bahl’s Goodbye starring Rashmika Mandanna and Neena Gupta and Nag Ashwin’s next.

He’ll also be seen in Sooraj Barjatya’s next film, Oonchai, and will soon begin production on Deepika Padukone’s version of The Intern.
