OMG: Lisa Ray Calls Saaho alleges Plagiarism calling it a Blatant Theft

Lisa Ray who came in limelight with her film Kasoor in early 2000 is back in the news. This time for alleging the recently released Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor starrer film Saaho for having plagiarism issue. In her long Instagram message yesterday she called the makers as robbers who have carried out the blatant theft from the artwork of the modern artist Shilo Shiv Suleman work and used the same in one of their posters.

Lisa with her Instagram has shared two posters comparing the artwork and the poster of Saaho that has Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor’s photos pasted on it to make it a poster of the film. She said she has to speak to make the filmmakers understand that what they have done is wrong. She said even the big-budget films like these rely on copying their posters from Shilo’s original creations. She further said that this is not inspiration but blatant theft and is not at all acceptable in any form.

She said the makers did not even care to call the creators and seek their permission before using it as a poster for their film. She said though the Hindi Cinema has evolved a lot, on the other side we see such theft taking place. She then said that such producers should be held accountable for their acts. The then posed a question to the Saaho makers how would they feel if any thief comes at home and take your valued stuff. The makers are yet to react to this.
