OMG: Karan Johar paid a whopping 6 crore for getting Dear Comrade’s rights

As we hear Karan Johar getting the rights to make a South Indian film Dear Comrade for the Hindi remake many of our readers might be wondering as to how much amount did the filmmaker paid to the movie makers. Well, he paid a whopping 6 Crores to the makers of South Indian film, which remains the highest money so far for any South Indian film remake in Bollywood. After all, for Bollywood filmmakers, most of the South Indian films become the sure-shot ways to deliver something big blockbuster film at the box office.

They very well know, hence do not leave any opportunity to earn big when they are approached by any Bollywood filmmakers to get the right for a Hindi remake. Hence when Karan Johar approached them, they knew they are giving yet another big blockbuster film in Bollywood and they were smart to take the leverage out of it. This is not the first time when we have seen Karan Johar approaching the South Indian films to do earn big at the box office.

He got the rights of Hindi remake for films like Baahubali and 2.0, which proved huge at the box office. Similarly the recently released film Kabir Singh is also the remake of a South Indian film Arjun Reddy, which also bagged huge at the box office earning 277 Crores at the box office. Thus when Karan Johar was paying that whopping amount, he very well knows the fact that he can earn big as Dear Comrade has a huge potential to become a blockbuster at the box office once the Hindi version hits the screen.
