Varun Dhawan has been getting backlash for his recently released film Kalank. Many called it as a naive film by Karan Johar although they had good words for the actor’s performance, the film was taken to task by the critics. The film was released on 17th April and got some good response on the first day, while the rest of the days it has to suffer for many reasons. Now, he has no other reason but to move on. As per reports, he has a couple in the pipeline, which certainly includes Coolie No. 1.
Ever since the film Coolie No. 1 is discussed in the media, we have been hearing that it will be a remake of the 1995 Govinda and Karishma Kapoor starrer film. However, the lead actor of the film Varun Dhawan has something different to talk about the film. The film has Sara Ali Khan in the lead female role, but if you talk about the plot of the film it would be different than the original one. As per Varun, the film is not a remake but has some ideas being plucked out from the original.
There are many changes to be witnessed in the film informed the actor. He said since there are too many changes in the film, hence it would be unfair to call the movie as a remake. David Dhawan has directed the film and he is now willing to make it with his son Varun Dhawan. He has kept two of the old songs ‘Husn Hai Suhana’ and ‘Main Toh Raste Se Ja Raha Tha’ from the original one. Besides, this film Varun is also part of the dance film called Street Dancer 3D. It will have a slew of actors like Shraddha Kapoor, Aparshakti Khurrana and Nora Fatehi in it.
