OMG: Bombay HC asks explanation from Maharashtra government to justify Sanjay Dutt’s early release

The Bombay High Court today has asked the state run Maharashtra government to file an affidavit in order to justify its decision to grant actor Sanjay Dutt an early release from his case of 1993 serial bomb blasts case. The actor was given five years of jail in connection with the possession of arms, which seems to be the consignment that has been used in order to trigger the blast that has ripped up the city of Mumbai in the year 1993 which has killed 257 people along with injuring 700 people.

The actor has been on the bail during the trail as he surrendered in the year 2013 once the SC has called him for the conviction. The actor has been released last year in the Feb 2016 releasing him eight months early for his good conduct in the Yerwada Jail in Pune. However, the Bombay High Court bench has asked the government an explanation asking the reason of the early release.

This has been in the background of the PIL being lodged in the High court by a Pune based resident called Pradeep Halekar who has also questioned the number of paroles and furloughs gibe given to the actor during his stay in the Police Custody.  The additional public prosecutor Mr. Prajakta Shinde today has asked the Police department to state the reason and commented on the event about asking the parameters which has given him the bail.
