We still can’t believe that the veteran actor Om Puri is not with us anymore. The 66-year old actor who was seen so hearty and healthy until yesterday had his last breath after suffering a massive cardiac arrest this Friday morning. As rightly tweeted by his dear friend Anupam Kher, “Seeing him lying on his bed looking so calm can’t believe that one of our greatest actors #OmPuri is no more.”
There is no doubt to the fact that it’s a huge loss to the industry, which will take long to bear. While his 45 plus years of contribution in the Indian cinema may have come to an end but he would be remembered time immemorial. Not many of you would know that he was also a part of Salman Khan’s Tubelight. Yes, director Kabir Khan just tweeted with a heavy heart reminiscing the times spent with him on the sets of Tubelight.
“Omji… u were laughing with us on set jst a few days ago! We have lost one of the greatest actor & the warmest person in the film industry. Omji… I will miss that warm tight hug that you gave me every morning on set. Khudahafiz sir… you were the best!”, reads Kabir Khan’s heartfelt tweet. Needless to say that we even got our hands on this picture of Om Puri from the sets of Tubelight. Now it’s left to see how the makers will pay a tribute to Om Puri through Tubelight. While the whole country is saddened by the news of Om Puri’s sudden demise, we are still to catch Salman’s reaction to the news as he is yet to comment on it. The film is directed by Kabir Khan, Tubelight also stars Sohail Khan and Chinese actress Zhu Zhu and the film is all set to release on Eid 2017.
