NTR Jr, who has gained immense fame in recent months, has another major project in the works after the phenomenal success of his previous pan-Indian endeavour RRR. According to recent media reports, NTR Jr. is set to face off against Hrithik Roshan in YRF’s sequel to their action blockbuster War (2019).
The action spy thriller, tentatively titled War 2, will pit Hrithik against NTR Jr, who will portray the main antagonist. Ayan Mukerji of Brahmastra (2022) renown will direct the spy thriller, which is now regarded a true pan-Indian project and one of the biggest Indian films to date.
A trade source told online publication Variety, “NTR Jr is facing off against Hrithik Roshan in ‘War 2.’ It’s going to be incredible. Their fight of wits and fierce showdown will undoubtedly be a big-screen action spectacle to recall. Aditya Chopra’s decision allows ‘War 2′ to have the broadest public appeal for a Hindi film while also increasing the film’s box office potential. Because of the presence of their adored superstar, South India should come alive and connect on a more emotional level with the film.”
The source further added that, NTR Jr. is one of South India’s most respected and followed icons, and he is highly picky about films. “Hrithik Roshan vs. NTR Jr. will be a fight worth seeing on the biggest screen imaginable. War is a franchise precious to Aditya Chopra, and he was clear from the start that he wanted to take War 2 to a whole new level. And with NTR Jr’ addition, now War 2 has become the most anticipated films of the Indian Film Industry”.

War (2019), starring Hrithik and Tiger, is part of YRF’s spy universe and the highest-grossing film of 2019. After Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), War (2019), the recently released Pathaan (2022), and the shortly to be released Tiger 3 (2023), War 2 will be the sixth film in the YRF spy universe.
Meanwhile, NTR Jr. will next be seen in Koratala Siva’s action drama. Janhvi Kapoor also appears as a female lead in the film.
