Three years ago, Marathi audiences were entertained by director Vishal Furia with his film Lapachhapi. The film, starring Pooja Sawant, garnered rave reviews for the underlying theme related to the horror element and female feticide. Actress Nushrat Bharucha is now reported to be appearing in the Hindi remake of the film.
Now, we come to know that a Hindi remake of the Marathi film titled Chori is being made, with Nusrat Bharucha in the lead role. Confirming the same, Vishal, who will direct the Hindi version, stated “Yes, this is an official remake of Lapachhapi and it will be on a serious scale. However, the Marathi film was well received by the audience. With a Hindi version, we are now looking to add more surprises and thrills to the film.”

The director shared that while the original story will be the same, there will definitely be some changes in the film.
Regarding the casting of Nushrat Bharucha, he says, “I think she is a very good artist and will be able to play this role properly.” Vishal says that the horror genre in Bollywood is not very good at present and with this film, he wants to take it up a notch.
