People love the calmness of the sea. It’s a four-kilometer-long stretch. Some of the best cuisines are also found near Marine Drive.
Sanjay Gandhi Park
It is also referred as the Green Lungs of Mumbai. The sanctuary is the home of many wild creatures in the world. The area is more than 100 square kilometers situated in Borivali. This sanctuary also has an ancient temple hidden under the forest, like the almost 2,000-year-old Kanheri Caves. The ancient Buddhist monuments are also found here.
Elephanta Caves
This place is famous for rock-cut cave temples. It is a one-hour ferry ride from Mumbai. Most of the caves in Elephanta are dedicated to Lord Shiva. They are easily available, as ferries for Elephanta Island depart every thirty minutes from the port at Gateway of India, making it a comfortable tourist place near Mumbai to visit.
Haji Ali Dargah
It is one of the most religious places in Mumbai. The place is built with white marble in the Indo-Islamic style. The Dargah is Surrounded by sea from all sides which makes it worth visiting. The grave within the mosque is covered by a brocaded red and green cloth. You can attend the qawwali session on Fridays which is the best part of Dargah.
