After passing the hurdle of Censor Board, the makers of Udta Punjab is now facing a new repulsion. This time it’s the Punjab based NGO called Human Rights Awareness Association, which sought to put a hold on the screening of the said film. The NGO has appealed to the Supreme Court asking that the film has portrayed the agriculture state of India into a bad light. The said NGO appealed to the bench comprising of the judges L Nageshwara Rao which the Bombay High Court has given green signal stating a clearance with few cuts cannot be interfered. The Bombay High Court on Monday thrashed the Censor Board and directed the filmmaker to do the amendments with a disclaimer. Earlier, the Censor Board has asked the makers to go with 89 cuts including removing the name from Punjab from the movie, which prompted the makers of the film.
