Netflix unveils the first poster of Leila starring Huma Qureshi

Netflix’s Leila has been in talks since long and the talks become even more popular with Huma Qureshi making her debut with the same. Netflix recently introduced the first look poster of this upcoming series, Leila. The series will be revolving around the dystopian drama of a mother searching for her lost daughter. The series will be helmed by the popular director, Deepa Mehta along with two other directors, Shanker Raman and Pawan Kumar in the league. However, Huma Qureshi will remain to be in the main lead.

Right amidst the ongoing hype of the upcoming second season of Sacred Games, Netflix has introduced the first poster of this drama miniseries, Leila. The global web series specialized streaming giant, Netflix had earlier also shared the first look teaser of this series, announcing its release date as June 14.

The six-episode miniseries will be revolving around Shalini (Huma) who in search of her lost daughter, Leila will be based on Prayaag Akbar’s book with the same name. The show will be depicting Shalini’s hardships in the course of searching for her daughter without losing her faith and bearing with the loss.

Huma looks pretty optimistic about this fantastic Netflix project to work along. She is quite thrilled to be essaying the role of Shalini, whom she considers to be a unique mix of strength, grace and optimism that helps her get through all the odds of her life.

Stating about her strong role in the miniseries, Huma stated on a media platform, “It is unlike anything I have done before and I can’t wait for Netflix to take this story to the world.”

Apart from Huma, the series will also be featuring Rahul Khanna, Sanjay Suri and Arif Zakaria, amongst the others in the star cast.
