Netflix Pours Plans to Pump 100 Million USD To add Diverse Content
A big news from the streaming giant – Netflix finally comes up with a plan to invest 100 M of Netflix. This comes with a huge investment plan for the audience as Netflix will invest this money in making the content more diverse claims the reports. As per Dr. Stacy Smith and the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative research team, half of the movies and TV series feature female centric shows. The company now comes up with their comprehensive plan to diversify the content in film and web series programming.
The decision was taken on the basis of a study conducted on Netflix’s on-screen talent along with the storylines and its creators and filmmakers. The data was then seen compared to the US census information for defining the content. It also covered the intersection of gender along with the underrepresented status all over these inclusion indicators. There are around 52 per cent of female centric content on Netflix, which seems to have invaded the other genre.
So, considering the detailed study and the trends that have been ruling the OTT platform, the streaming giant has planned to pump in 100M as an investment to diversify the content presented on it.
