OMG: Gulabo Sitabo in Legal Tangle as it faces Plagiarism Issue

Ever since the trailer of the film Gulabo Sitabo was released, the film has remained the talk of the town. Now, we hear that the film is going into the bad book.. The film has been written by Scriptwriter Juhi Chaturvedi as she has been accused of plagiarism as the film is all set to OTT platform. A police complaint has been filed on the writer while the legal notice has been even sent to the makers. 

However, the writer Juhi denied the charges calling them as baseless allegations, which is meant to create a weird kind of controversy. The issue has been hurled by Akira Agarwal who is the son of late writer Rajveev Agarwal. Akira claimed that the story of the OTT film resembles to the one of her stories called “16 Mohandas Lane.” She claimed that she had submitted the story in March 2018 and at the same time, it was submitted to one of the contests. 

Akra’s lawyer Rizwan Siddiquee has issued a legal notice to the makers and the writer of “Gulabo Sitabo”, asking for the complete script. Akira has also filed a police complaint at Juhu Hospital, Mumbai claiming that the story of the Ayushmann Khurrana and Big B starring film “Gulabo Sitabo” has a similar background and story. Akira has even approached the Screenwriters Association (SWA) for mediation, while the film body has asked the makers of GS to submit her script. Thus the writer of the film has been framed with charges of cheating, criminal breach of copyright and trust infringement.
