Even after three decades in showbiz, Neena Gupta recently made headlines with “Badhaai Ho” starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sanya Malhotra. In a recent interview with a news portal, Neena spoke openly about her career and achieving little success in her retirement plans.

Talking on the same, Neena Gupta reportedly stated that she is not Amitabh Bachchan and no special role is written for women in Bollywood. According to her, people saw her after Badhaai Ho and now she is known as a good character actor.

She also confessed that she did not get that kind of fame and had very few roles for women. She added that she could no longer be a heroine, although men her age could still be the main-leads.

Asked if she had any plans to retire, she reportedly said she had always been quite ambitious. According to her, she never felt like marrying, settling down and taking care of children and family. She revealed that she always wanted to work and do something for herself and her parents also asked her to always be passionate.

Neena Gupta was last seen on the work front in ‘Shubh Mangal Savdhan’. The film featured Ayushmann Khurrana and Jitendra Kumar in lead roles. In this, her ‘Badhaai Ho’ co-star Gajraj Rao was also in a key role. The film received positive response from audiences and critics alike.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Amitabh Bachchan’s upcoming film ‘Gulabo Sitabho’ with Ayushmann Khurrana is set for digital release on June 12.

Apart from this, actor will also be seen for Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra’ alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. He also has other interesting projects like ‘Jhund’ and ‘Chehre’.
