Nawazuddin Siddiqui to play homosexual

Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Talented actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been approached to play the lead role in the Hansal Mehta’s next film which will be based on homosexuals. The actor hails from Budhana, a small town in Uttar Pradesh, where his father is a farmer. He is a science graduate and has done theatre academics from The National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi in 1996.

The National Award winning Director had explored the gruesome face of the laws in his last film “Shahid” which was based on the real life story of social activist. Based on the controversial issue of homofierce desire, the director says that this human drama is a love story involving gay couples and what is its impact on the society. The detail of the rest of the cast is yet to be announced but essaying of the lead role by Nawazuddin is confirmed.

Hansal Mehta is currently busy doing the finishing touches with the film Citylights which deals with the problems of migrant labourers in Mumbai and is about a man who migrates with his family to Mumbai in search of his dreams.

Siddiqui became a household name in 2012, with the release of the movie “Gangs of Wasseypur 2”, which gave him a much awaited stardom. He was also awarded the Special Jury Award, same year  at the 60th National Film Awards, for his work in films, KahaaniGangs of Wasseypur, Dekh Indian Circus and Talaash.

The subject of the Homosexuals is totally new for Bollywood and looking at the Director’s as well as actor’s previous records, its needless to say that the movie will surely be a must watch!!!
