Most remembered as Naveen Bansal from the super popular web series, TVF Pitchers, Naveen Kasturia is being called as The Accidental Actor. The mega success of this series not just commenced the emerging popularity of web series in India but, also bought a fresh wave of actors into the limelight.
Naveen Kasturia turns to definitely be one of them!
Looking into the acting journey of this Delhi lad, it clearly indicates to be pretty accidental. Even though, Naveen remained to be quite fascinated by movies since his childhood days, yet similar to the other aspiring candidates, his obvious career choice was engineering.
Being an astounding Engineering student, he kept writing and directing several plays but, as soon as he graduated, he received his dream job with J.P. Morgan. However, six months into it the job and Naveen got ‘bored’.
Quitting his job, he went on to pursue his dream of direction but in the league of meeting a number of people for work, he was introduced to a guy from a production house who offered him the position of the Assistant Director position which Naveen gladly took.
After working as an AD for a long time, he wanted to be a filmmaker and started the pitching work for it. This was when he met Amit Masurkar on the sets of Love, nooky Aur Dhoka who suggested him to try his hand at acting. And that’s how Sulemani Keeda happened.
Even though the movie wasn’t on the go for long, still it survived to let Naveen think about acting. With a number of slowly sweeping acting opportunities on the go, he met The Viral Fever (TVF) through Arunabh Kumar who casted him as Rannvijay Singh for a comedy sketch called Rowdies which helped him get his first recognition as an actor.
Sulemani Keeda was eventually released in 2014. And it was only a year later that TVF Pitchers happened that put him into a spotlight and helped him establish as an actor to reckon with.
Since then, Naveen Kasturia has been a number of web series and short films. His project ‘Thinkistan’ will also depict the actor in quite a different avatar.
