This Friday, we have a solo release, which comes in the form of Masaan. The film directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, which has already created a good impact over the popular Cannes Film Festival. The film has received two awards by the International Jury, which certainly include the Critics award and Most Promising Future award as well. The director is known to give some of the best films in the past, which include Gangs Of Wasseypur. The film stars Richa Chadda & Sanjay Mishra in the lead roles, while it deals with two different stories of people based in Banaras in the UP State of India.
Despite getting accolades at the Cannes Film Festival, the film has failed to garner a good buzz in the media, considering the non-commercial background of it. No star value not much of promotion and limited screens will certainly going to hamper the box office collection in a big way. Hence the first day box office collection for Massan is not expected to exceed 1 crores considering the subject it handles. Thus, not much hopes from the audience to give the film a good start. However, the word of mouth after the first day or weekend collection can create some buzz. Let us see how things move for Masaan.
