Murderbaad Trailer Out: Sharib Hashmi, Amole Gupte Star in 25-Year-Old Arnab Chatterjee’s Directorial Debut – Watch Now
“Where Is the Guest?” asks the trailer of Murderbaad, a fresh take on the Indian romantic thriller genre, directed by 25-year-old Arnab Chatterjee. This intriguing whodunit features a stellar cast, including Sharib Hashmi, Amole Gupte, Manish Chaudhari, along with Nakul Roshan Sahdev from Gully Boy and Kanikka Kapur from Barjatiya’s Dono.
The official trailer, released today by Reliance Entertainment, has already captured attention for its taut suspense and impressive ensemble. Set against the backdrop of the picturesque city of Jaipur, Murderbaad revolves around the mysterious disappearance of a guest at a Rajasthani palace. What begins as a straightforward missing person case quickly evolves into a tangled web of secrets and deeply buried psychological truths. The trailer tantalizingly hints at the theme of “where love and death collide,” implying that every character has their own hidden motives.
Arnab Chatterjee shared his journey, stating, “The Murderbaad journey began five years ago when I wrote a two-page concept while still in college. It draws inspiration from the romance and thrill I grew up watching, but I aimed to root it in a uniquely Indian setting. At its core, it explores the stories people conceal to protect their identities. I’m thankful for the talented cast and crew who helped bring this vision to life.”
The film features a robust ensemble cast, including newcomers Nakul Roshan Sahdev and Kanikka Kapur, alongside seasoned actors like Sharib Hashmi, Manish Chaudhari, Amole Gupte, Aanjjan Srivastav, and Vibha Chhibber. The film’s high production value is enhanced by the cinematography of legendary Binod Pradhan (known for Devdas and Rang De Basanti), editing by Dev Rao Jadhav (of Badhai Ho fame), and action sequences devised by Sham Kaushal (notable for Gangs of Wasseypur).
Sharib Hashmi praised Arnab, stating, “Despite it being his debut Hindi feature, Arnab assembled a remarkable mix of fresh talent and industry veterans. Amole Gupte added, “This young man, Arnab, has impressively brought together industry veterans and taken on the entire film on his own. His unique approach and conviction are truly admirable.”
The trailer has sparked discussions on social media for its haunting visuals, sharp suspense, and evocative score by Rickie, featuring vocals from Shaan, Nakash Aziz, and Amit Kumar. Produced under Arnab’s banner, ACjee Entertainment, Murderbaad is set to hit theaters on July 18, 2025.
