One World Earth Day: Dia Mirza, Manish Paul join for beach cleaning, Bhumi Pednekar urges to save the environment

One World earth day 2022, Dia Mirza, Pragya Kapoor and Manish Paul came together for a beach clean-up in Mumbai.

Dia Mirza who is quite vocal about saving nature and sustainable living has a unique message for everyone on Earth Day as the country grapples with the Covid-19 issue. Dia, says,” “The pandemic has made it abundantly clear that we have to change the way we live, produce, manufacture and consume. Today, the health of every single human-being and our collective harmony hangs in the balance and is closely linked with the well-being of Mother Nature. Mirza’s thoughts on this year’s theme, Restore Our Earth, are meant to refocus individual and collective attention on the processes, green technologies, and ideas that can heal, repair, and restore the planet. “How we do it is the question. What we need to begin with is the dissemination of environmental literacy at all possible levels because we cannot save what we are ignorant about. The theme of Earth Day this year is a clarion call to restore the balance of the natural world on which all of life depends.”

Dia Mirza further added that reversing the clock would need climate knowledge, as well as restorative technical solutions, large forestry initiatives, sustainable corporate practices, and regenerative agriculture, among other proactive steps.

“We need to mobilise greater momentum now than ever before. Of course, personal behaviour change will make a difference but along with learning to lead more sustainable lifestyles, we also need to hold governments, industry and civil society accountable. We need to imbibe and disseminate scientific facts which are now more accessible than ever before. We must join movements to protect nature/wildlife and demand laws that will ensure the change we need. We need every single earth citizen to work towards restoring the planet to its former glory. When political, business and environmental leaders work in synergy with people from all walks of life to protect the earth, a better world will come into being,” the was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, Bhumi Pednekar also urges people to save the environment. She took to her Instagram handle and posted a story with the caption “Happy Earth Day.” She said, “There is no plan B. This is our only home. Let’s conserve, preserve and regenerate it.” The text was followed by a hashtag that read, “Climate Warrior.”

This Earth Day, let’s preserve, conserve and regenerate our home. We have to leave behind a planet that is abundant and sufficient for our future generations and all species.
Let’s listen to science, let’s listen to the signs our planets been giving us. Climate Change is the largest looming threat to humanity and something that will effect every one irrespective of anything.
So my dear warriors let’s join this fight :)”
