This Friday, we had a couple of low budget films, which certainly included the one called Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho. Directed by a journalist turned director called Vinod Kapri, the film is a political satire having Annu Kapoor, Om Puri, Hrishita Bhatt and Rahul Baggha in the lead roles. Though the film was seen surrounding certain controversies, however, it failed to garner much response over the box office. The film has different story line but has received low ratings from most of the critics, which has hampered its word of mouth publicity found in the media.
Thanks to all these factors, the occupancy report especially over the box office remained low reaching to around 5 to 8 percent. However, small town single screens witnessed some sign of relief for the filmmakers giving a better response. Such movies are not known to have better fate thanks to the indigestible subjects and the poor ratings. As per reports, the first day box office report for Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho tolled to around 70 lakhs. The first weekend can have a bit of surge but its futile to expect much from the film for no star value and tangible content.
