Last Friday, two films released, which was nothing but the replica of the previous Friday having one serious and the other the sex comedy – Mastizaade and Saala Khadoos. Interestingly, the sex comedies released back to back had Tusshar Kapoor in common. Now, let’s talk about the Mastizaade first. The film had a decent collection after the end of the first week. Though there was some buzz against the sex comedy, including having negative reviews for the film, yet it managed to pave ways for the same.
As per reports, the first week box office collection for the film Mastizaade tolled to around 24.08 crores, which went similar to the pattern of Kya Kool Hai Hum 3 that earned around 28 crores. Now, with the release of Ghayal Once Again, the collection for the sex comedy is likely to hamper a lot. Also, don’t forget there are two more releases this week, which also add some heat to the competition. Now, let’s talk about the other film released the same day – Saala Khadoos by Rajkumar Hirani. This time Raju seems to have bad time as his film managed to get a low collection.
Saala Khadoos simply stayed low in the entire week and the expected jump during the weekdays is seen simply missing. Though the weekend did showcases some amount of escalation, the need of the hour is to maintain not less than 2 crores on every passing day in order to give mullah to filmmakers. This didn’t really turn out to be the case for this film despite the fact that there isn’t much of competition found in the theatres and good number of screens/shows available for the same.
