Marathi stars come together for this special song from ‘Maharashtra Shaheer’

We rarely see all of the biggest stars of the film industry join together for a single project. Now all the top Marathi stars have come together for a unique song from the upcoming Marathi biopic ‘Maharashtra Shaheer’. And that song is ‘Marathi patriotic song ‘Jay Jay Maharashtra Majha,’ which has also been designated as the state song of Maharashtra.

The new video shared by the makers of Maharashtra Shahir’ features all the top artists of Marathi film industry including Siddharth Jadhav, Suyash Tilak, Abhijeet Khandkekar, Adinath Kothare, Gashmir Mahajani, Sachin Khedekar, Bharat Jadhav, Pushkar Jog, Prathmesh Parab, Nagraj Manjule, Akash Thosar, Siddharth Chandekar, Umesh Kamat, Prasad Oak, Lalit Prabhakar, Adesh Bandekar, Shiv Thakre & Swapnil Joshi.

This new version of ‘Jay Jay Maharashtra Majha’ has been sung by Ajay Gogavle and composed by Ajay-Atul. The original version of the song was composed by Shrinivas Khale and sung by folk singer Krishnarao Sable on whose life this film is based on. The lyrics of the song were written by Raja Badhe.

‘Maharashtra Shaheer’ is a musical biopic based on the life of Padma Shri Shahir Sable, a Maharashtrian singer, playwright, performer and folk theatre producer and director. The film features popular Marathi star Ankush Chaudhari essaying the role of Shahir Sable. Shahir, who participated  in the India’s freedom struggle and afterwards in movements such as Samyukta Maharashtra, had come into contact with many renowned figures from many fields. Any many top artist from Marathi film industry will be seen essaying the roles of those renowned figures.

Maharashtra Shaheer is helmed by Marathi filmmaker Kedar Shinde who also happens to be Shahir Sable’s grandson.  Produced by Everest Entertainment and Kedar Shinde Productions, the film is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on 28 April 2023.
