Mamta Kulkarni Removed from Kinnar Akhada; Head Rishi Ajay Das Declares, “This Is Not Bigg Boss”

Former actress Mamta Kulkarni, who recently returned to Mumbai and sparked rumors of a Bollywood comeback, clarified her intention to follow a spiritual path instead. She joined the Kinnar Akhada during the Maha Kumbh, performed rituals, and was awarded the title of Mahamandaleshwar. However, just a week later, the founder of the Kinnar Akhada, Rishi Ajay Das, expelled both Mamta Kulkarni and prominent social activist Laxmi Narayan Tripathi from their respective positions.
On Friday, Das released an official statement explaining his decision. He stated, “As the founder of Kinnar Akhada, I am hereby relieving Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi from his position, effective immediately. His appointment was intended to promote religious activities and uplift the transgender community, but he has deviated from these responsibilities.”Expressing his displeasure, Das criticized the lack of commitment shown by both individuals, saying, “This is not a Bigg Boss show where you appear during the Maha Kumbh and then disappear for three years.
Both Mamta Kulkarni and Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi will be removed from their posts.” Das also raised concerns about Kulkarni’s controversial past, referring to allegations of her involvement in a drug cartel. He remarked, “A person like Mamta Kulkarni, accused of anti-national activities, was made Mahamandaleshwar without taking sanyas. This is unacceptable.”In response, Laxmi Narayan Tripathi defended his actions and strongly criticized Das, claiming that he had misappropriated funds during the 2016 Ujjain Kumbh. Tripathi told ANI, “We expelled Ajay Das in 2017.
He chose a household life and no longer represents the Kinnar Akhada.” Tripathi also defended Mamta Kulkarni, stating that the allegations against her were dismissed by the court. The controversy has ignited a heated debate within the religious community, with both sides accusing each other of misconduct.
