Mahabharat fame Gufi Paintal aka Shakuni Mama No More

Its a sad news there in the TV and entertainment worled as the renowned actor Gufi Paintal has passed away. He was famous for his portrayal of Shakuni mama in B R Chopra’s legendary television series Mahabharat, passed away on Monday at a Mumbai hospital due to age-related ailments, according to his nephew Hiten Paintal. Gufi Paintal was 79 years old. Tragically, Hiten informed PTI, “Unfortunately, he is no more. He passed away at the hospital at around 9 am. His heart gave up. He passed away peacefully in his sleep.”

Earlier, Hiten had shared with PTI that his uncle had been experiencing health issues associated with old age. “He had been facing blood pressure and heart problems. His health had been deteriorating for some time. As his condition worsened, we admitted him to the hospital for observation. He had been hospitalized for approximately seven to eight days. Initially, he was in critical condition, but now he is stable,” Hiten had previously revealed.

Gufi Paintal’s contribution to the entertainment industry extended beyond his notable role in Mahabharat. He also appeared in Hindi films from the 1980s, including Suhaag and Dillagi, as well as television shows like CID and Hello Inspector. Nevertheless, it was his remarkable portrayal of the cunning Shakuni mama in Mahabharat that cemented his place as a household name.

He is survived by his son, daughter-in-law, and grandchild, leaving behind a legacy of memorable performances and his enduring contribution to the world of acting. The passing of Gufi Paintal marks the end of an era and leaves a void in the hearts of his fans and colleagues. His remarkable talent and unforgettable performances will be cherished and remembered by generations to come. As per reports, he will be created today in the Mumbai based Cremation centre.
