Bangladeshi actress Raima Islam Shimu’s husband confessed his involvement in her murder

Shakhawat Ali Nobel, the husband of Bangladeshi actress Raima Islam Shimu, confessed to the murder of his wife after her body was discovered in a sack a few days after she was reported missing.

The police interrogated Ali after multiple injury marks were discovered on the late actor’s body. Ali is being held on three-day detention, according to the reports. As per the Dhaka police statement, his involvement is most likely due to a family conflict.

Abdullah Farhad, Ali’s friend, was also detained and questioned. According to reports in Bangladeshi media, the case may be involving a powerful man.

Raima Islam Shimu, who had been missing for a few days, was discovered dead in a sack along a bridge in Keraniganj, Dhaka, on Monday. Locals discovered her dead near Alipur Bridge, Kadamtoli region, on Monday, January 17 and contacted the police station, according to an investigation by the police.

Raima’s body had injury marks on it, leading investigators to assume she had been ordered to be killed by criminals on Sunday, after which her body was dumped. The body has been transported to the Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital (SSMCH) for autopsy, as per a top police official, who also claimed that an inquiry is underway.

Shimu’s family had filed a report with the Kalabagan Police Station after she went missing on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the 45-year-old actress made her cinematic debut in 1998 with ‘Bartaman.’ She has now appeared in over 25 films. She was a member of the Bangladesh Film Artistes Association as an associate member. She also worked in TV dramas and produced in addition to films.
