Legal Ripples: Allahabad High Court Rebukes Adipurush Makers Over Indecent Dialogues, Serves Notice to Writer Manoj Muntashir Shukla

Of late, the film Adipurush has been making news for all the wrong reasons. We see the makers now presuming that the audience are now buying the narrative against the actor. They feel that the film they have made is true and it is getting accepted in the masses. However, on the face of it, you may not find it right especially when the Allahabad High Court has slammed the makers for making a film with indecent dialogues and steamy sequences.

We also saw the bench making harsh comments on the film stating that the makers cannot take the audience for a ride and that they cannot compel the masses to accept their narrative as shown in the movie. They cannot expect that the narrative would be accepted and true to its logic and other things. The bench further said that just because the people in this religion are tolerant that makers cannot just play with the audience and their emotions. The court also posed questions to the Censor Board and claimed that they are not playing their part.

It further said that the board should consider the sentiments of the audience especially on the content which remain objectionable. The film is passed on the wrong notes and that many of the situations shown in the movie. The court further claimed that the people being so tolerant make them consider such ill acts of the makers. They have not taken law into their hands and thus it is the duty of the makers to get rid of the objectionable sequences from the film.

It said that some of the sequences are vulgar and it should have been avoided by the makers. Or else they should have gone for the A certificate for the movie. On the other hand, the Deputy Solicitor General defended the film stating that the makers have removed the objectionable dialogues. Yet, the court further claimed that the projection of the film on the big screens should be prevented considering the emotions of the audience.
