Although many enjoyed watching the trailer of the film Laxxmi Bomb when it finally hit the social media but the fringe element came heavily on them alleging that they have hurt the religious sentiments. These included the Karni Sena of Rajasthan and other Hindu fringe groups who came forward to demand for changing the title. Even when the film was presented to the Censor Board, they were quick to ask to make the changes in the title as well as it was causing backlash in the society.
The film starring Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani is supposed to hit the OTT platform Disney Plus and Hotstar on the 9th of this month. The film will be released this Diwali and happens to be a remake of a Tamil film Kanchana. This is the first time when Akshay Kumar has played a transgender in any film. He was seen wearing Sari for the first time in his career which seemed to have created a good buzz around. However, the fringe groups found it derogatory as it was used with the word bomb with the goddess with the name of a deity.
It was Taran Adarsh who confirmed the news by tweeting about the same.

Some of the groups that agitated include Janajagruti Samiti and Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha along with the Karni Sena that has remained very active during the time of Padmaavat release. They wrote to the IB Minister, Mr. Prakash Javadekar claiming that the makers have hurt the sentiments with the title.
