Nobody thought that movie by Riteish Deshmukh called Lai Bhari released on 11th July 2014 would bring that laurel, which wasn’t expected by any regional movie. Despite the rain pouring in Mumbai, the people in the city took all pain to watch the movie and incredible performance by Riteish. The movie in just few days turned out a top grosser in the state thus setting up new trends in Box Office history for any regional movie especially in the category of Marathi films. The main leads include the double role of Riteish, Sharad Kelkar, Aditi Pohankar and Radhika Apte. The action and performance from Riteish was simply incredible, while the cameo from the Kick hero – Salman really made things different for everyone.
Entering the fourth week the movie till date is among the highest grosser in Marathi film category with doing business only in Maharashtra regions. Though the third weekend saw a slight decline in collection, however, with the fourth weekend touching the collection again went up. As per the box office figures, the first week income was around 17.1 followed by 9.33 crores, 3rd went to around 4.71 whereas the fourth weekend collection went to around 10 crore giving a total of around 40 till date. As Kick hit the theatres, it put some impact over the collection of Lai Bhari, yet its collection has been awesome so far and thus turning out to be an important yardstick for the Marathi movie.
