Do Lafzon Ki Kahani Movie Review

Do Lafzon Ki Kahani Movie Review

This Friday, you have two movies releasing, which certainly include Do Lafzo Ki Kahani. The film has Randeep Hooda and Kajal Aggarwal in the pivotal roles, while Mamik Singh and Yuri Suri are seen in the supporting role. The film is directed by actor director Deepak Tijoiri, while it is produced by Dhaval Jayantilal Gada under the popular banner of Pen India Limited. The music comes from Arjuna Harjai along with Ankit Tiwari and Amaal Mallik. The story of the film is inspired by a Korean film called Always, while DLKK was shot locations like Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia apart from the ones in India. The South Indian version of the film has been made with the title Boxer. Now, time to check in the review of the film as under:

Plot

The film DLKK is a love story with some amount of action in it. The film is based on the life of a man with ex-mixed marital arts artist called Sooraj played by Randeep Hooda and Jenny played by Kajal Aggarwal who plays the role of a sculptor in it. Their destiny in the film simply intertwines when their past is seen getting leaked in their blooming love and relationship. Sooraj is a martial arts artist who is madly in love with the lady amidst all good she loses her eyesight, which makes the actor die hard to give her lady love liberty from darkness. The story of the film is tragic to an extent going out of the way to pursue a relationship of love and affection. So, what happens to the end is an interesting thing to explore at any of the nearest theatre.

Review

The film Do Lafzon Ki Kahani can be a Valentine Day movie considering the love, romance and tragedy it encompasses. In other words, it can be a called as a wrongly released movie in the month of June wherein people are still struggling with loads of heat and humid atmosphere of pre-monsoon season. Nevertheless, the film can be called as a straight forward love story as romantic as the root canal surgery can be. It is a film, which is seen coming straight from the heart with loads of mellow drama stretched to a new level all together, which gives Kajal a good start and not like the other films like Singham and Special 26, which has less to do with the female character in it. However, if you check in deep the film seems to be boasting up with too much of love element pitted with loads of tragedy that becomes too difficult to digest at the end by the audience catching up the film. Hence in other words, it’s a too bad love story, which has commitment to the end.

Performances

Talking about the performances, let’s start with Randeep Hooda, he is an accomplished actor who has tried and tested a wide range of characters over the silver screen. Unlike other films, he has tried his best to do justice to the character played in it. And to a great extent he is successful in showcasing the character of a lover who keeps everything aside when it comes to the happiness of his ladylove. So, in many ways, he has performed the best over the silver screen. Kajal Aggarwal in the role of sculptor who is the love interest of Sooraj is again done a decent job, however, considering her inexperience in playing such roles, one can make out her incompetence to some extent. Though she has tried her best to remain in the shoes of the character but still there seems to be lacunae in it. The others were okay in the film, which include Mamik Singh and Yuri Suri.

Direction, Music and Technical elements

The director has tried to make a simple love story yet DLKK appears to be a stuffed layered tale of love and romance. It has failed to surpass the expectations of the audience in many ways, as Deepak Tijori in an attempt to make a simple love story messed up with a complex statement of love. In a sense he has failed in his efforts to keep things simple as the story of the film demands from the director. The music to some extent is soothing yet not appealing to attract the audience towards the theatres. The other elements like editing, screenplay and dialogues seem loose at many points, which in a sense have hampered the entertainment value of the film. The film has a decent photography, thanks to the wise selection of locations based KL in Malaysia and even in India.

Do Lafzon Ki Kahani Last Word

Essentially the Deepak Tijori’s film Do Lafzon Ki Kahani is a love story interlinked with loads of emotions that somehow turned difficult for the director to handle. Hence the mess can be witnessed in the movie making things bad to worse.  The story of the film has all the potentials for making a captivating film, however, with too many flaws in it has hampered the same. Secondly, the film had a wrong timing when it comes to the release date. The best time for release for DLKK is Valentine’s Day, which seems to be missing here.

Rating – 2.0
