KRK to make a sequel of his flop movie ‘Deshdrohi’, netizens trolled, “COVID se bade virus…”

Deshdrohi 2, the sequel to the film, has been announced by the actor-producer Kamaal R Khan. The actor and director revealed the film’s poster, claiming that it will be “bigger than Baahubali.” The film will soon go into production.

A day ago, KRK had implied his comeback as a director. His tweet read, “I am all set to direct a film to show Bollywood how to make a blockbuster film (sic).” As promised, the filmmaker shared the poster of Deshdrohi 2, featuring him, today, April 18. “Shooting is going to start soon (sic),” read his caption.

Fans have mocked him with many humorous comments.

One wrote, “COVID se bade virus ki jarurat nahiye duniya ko #deshdrohi2.”Another user wrote, “Thanks @kamaalrkhan . Bollywood is deliberately failing in producing comedy movies. I’m happy that you took initiative in giving one to audience. We will surely watch it on YouTube if we get some time.”

Deshdrohi was directed by Jagdish A Sharma and produced by Kamaal R Khan in 2008. KRK starred opposite Manoj Tiwari, Hrishitaa Bhatt, Gracy Singh, and Zulfi Syed in the film. The film is about the difficulties faced by immigrants in Mumbai, where rural migration has displaced Marathis, who now make up less than half of the city’s population. The film was recognized for KRK’s terrible acting more than the plot. The actor is still trolled in scenes from the film.

Deshdrohi was released nationwide on November 14, 2008, except in Maharashtra, when the state government prohibited it under the Bombay Cinema Regulation Act. The film’s makers had petitioned the Bombay High Court to lift the prohibition. The film was released in Maharashtra on January 23, 2009, after a two-month restriction.
