First day collection of Mad about dance and Katiyabaaz

katiyabaaz-and mad about dance

This Friday, you have slew of options in terms of watching movies. At one end you have Singham Returns and other movies to watch, while on the other end you have three movies to catch releasing the same day today. Mad About Dance, Katiyabaaz and Mardani is among the three hitting the theatres today. Though the latter would have an edge over the first two movies in the list, since Mad About Dance and Katiyabaaz is regarded as offbeat movies, which may not attract everyone to watch it in the theatres.

Talking about Mad About Dance (MAD), you may not call an Indian version of Step UP that is seen revolving with the four students who are good friends. These people are obsessed with dance and are seen participating in a dance competition to beat the monopoly of whites in this segment. Apart from dance and music you have a couple of other elements as well in the movie, yet these are not strong enough to attract good amount of audience to the film. As expected, the movie had a slow start with occupancy reaching up to 20-30 percent. You may expect a certain lift in the evening though yet the collection would reach hardly up to 1 to 2 crore.

Now talking about Katiyabaaz, it is basically a documentary, which talks about the heinous condition of power cuts found in the city of Kanpur. People are often seen complaining about the 15 hours power cuts in this industrial city, which finally embarked the man called Loha Singh, who is smart enough to steal the power to supply the current for their survival usually known as Katiyabaazi in the local language. As said, it is a documentary, the movie had a very slow start with around 10-20 percent of occupancy in the theatres wherein it has been released. You can expect similar sort of figures in the evening as well. The other options in movies would count a lot for the audience.
