King Khan and other B Town celebs hail Women’s Hockey Team for their gallant effort

The history-making Indian women’s hockey team’s dream of securing its maiden Olympic medal remained unfulfilled as it lost 3-4 to Great Britain in a hard-fought bronze play-off match. The Indian women had already created history and surpassed all expectations by entering the semi-finals of the Games for the first time.

King Khan took to twitter and wrote,”Heartbreak!! But all reasons to hold our heads high. Well played Indian Women’s Hockey team. You all inspired everyone in India. That itself is a victory.”

Earlier when the team entered the semi finals,he had responded to team’s coach Sjoerd Marijne’s comments. The actor wrote, “Haan Haan no problem. Just bring some Gold on your way back. for a billion family members. This time Dhanteras is also on 2nd Nov. From: Ex-coach Kabir Khan”.

Celebrities such as Rakul Preet Singh, Boman Irani, Sunny Deol, Sudheer Babu, Tahir Raj Bhasin and more took to their social media profiles and praised the fighting spirit of the Women’s Hockey Team at Tokyo Olympics.

Actress Rakul Preet Singh took to her social media and praised the girls, she wrote, “What an amazing fight by the Girls! They played so well, with an inspiring spirit. You fill our hearts with pride #hockey #olympics #TeamIndia”.

Veteran actor Boman Irani expressed, “You did us proud #WomensHockeyTeam. You have inspired young and old. Takes much more than a medal to do that. #indvsgbr #TokyoOlympics2020”.

Actor turned politician Sunny Deol hailed the team and wrote, “Well played girls. You gave it your best. You were amazing in the tournament Keep your heads high…Proud of you #Hockey #HockeyIndiaTeam #womenhockeyindia #Olympics”.

South sensation Sudheer Babu also praised the effort, he shared, “At times, effort inspires more than the result. Played champs @TheHockeyIndia #Olympics”.

Tahir Raj Bhasin wrote, “Celebrating their courage, journeys and the heartwarming commitment with which our women’s hockey team played in Tokyo and took the sport to greater heights! #Tokyo2020 #Olympics #WomensHockeyTeam”.

Indian Male Hockey Team has managed to grab the Bronze Medal.
