The Shashanka Ghosh’s Khoobsurat released today, with all fervor and spirit. Starring Sonam Kapur and Fawad Khan, the movie has been released around 1500 screens all over India. It is produced by three big banners of the filmmaking industry, which include UTV (Siddhart Roy Kapur), Disney group and Anil Kapoor Productions. The preview about the movie was positive both by the audience and critics, giving good number of figures to its promos released on the social media sites. This has given hopes to the trade analysts and pundits. Well, let’s check the first day box office collection.
The occupancy rate at couple of places was around 25 to 30 percent seemed to be an average figure not just in the morning/afternoon shows but also in the evening shows. Hence the collection for Khoobsurat at the box office for the first day went to around 3 crores . However, the competition posed by the movies like Dawaat-e-Ishq and even Finding Fanny seems to have made the difference, which has brought down the figures . The first weekend collection would be really interesting to watch at the wake of the above said rival movies at the theatres.
Also, the movie has hardly being released in the single screens and hence the performance over the mass circuits seems to have gone very much poor. Overall there was not much growth in over any circuit specifically for the movie. As far as the weekend is concerned, the trade pundits expect to see a surged in the weekend collection provided if the said movie garners a positive buzz among the target audiences. Perhaps the fan base for both the movie and actors especially Fawad Khan would be primarily responsible in get the sudden rise making it a hit.
