Brahmastra : Part One – Shiva First Weekend box office collection: Bollywood is back thanks to Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt

Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, is now in theatres. Initial reports suggest that the film has performed well both in India and abroad. Despite mixed reviews, experts believe the film will end Bollywood’s dry spell and earn a whopping Rs 35 crore on its opening day.

The first instalment of the trilogy, Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, is set in an astraverse based on ancient Indian astras. Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy also play important roles in the film. The film was directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Karan Johar on a massive budget of Rs 410 crore. VFX and special effects were overseen by Bahubali director SS Rajamouli.

According to BoxOfficeIndia.com, the mythological sci-fi has seen 40-50% occupancy during morning shows, the highest for any Hindi film since the pandemic.

According to a report on the industry tracking website Sacnilk, earnings could reach Rs 33 crore or more by the end of all the shows.

Brahmastra had strong pre-bookings, and many industry analysts predicted that the film would earn between Rs 20 crore and Rs 25 crore, or even more, on Day 1 in India. According to media reports, nearly one million tickets had been sold in advance bookings by Thursday night.

Earlier in the day, film critic Sumit Kadel predicted that Brahmastra would gross Rs 35 crore. Now the finally numbers of the day has arrived and the film earned… on its first day.

It should be noted that the only Bollywood film to earn a double digit figure on Day 1 this year was Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. On day one, the Kartik Aaryan film earned Rs 14 crore, the most for a Hindi film in 2022.
