KGF Vs. Zero At the Box Office – Who’s the Winner?

At the Box Office, the much-hyped movie of SRK Zero seems to be getting a tough battle. In a way, the Kannada movie KGF has is finally able to beat the high budget SRK film Zero. Both the films were able to get a close figure at the box office after the first weekend. Zero scored 59.07 Crores, while KGF was able to take a meagre higher figure scoring 59.61 giving a tough fight to the superstar film. As we know, KGF was released in four different languages from South India and at the same time has a Hindi version as well to target the North Indians. Interestingly, KGF was able to score 10 Crores for its Hindi version.

KGF has gone neck to neck with Zero scoring more or less similar figure, but at the end of the day (weekend), it emerged as a winner beating the SRK film. The known trade pundit Taran Adarsh has announced the same over the Microblogging site – Twitter about KGF having the edge over Zero to some extent. Both the critics and audience had given mixed reviews to both the movies; hence the buzz for the same seemed similar for the duo. However, KGF with a budget of 50 crores, when compared to Zero with 200 Crores, the apparent winner at the box office, is undoubtedly the former film. Even if KGF earns a meagre amount still will be a winner at the end of the day.

The other interesting fact about the film KGF is that it has lower screen counts when compared to Zero. KGF had bagged around 2400 Screens, while Zero managed to get a good figure of 4500 Screens. Yet, KGF scored higher than Zero, which is again one of the key indications of the winner. Zero has an ensemble star cast, with star value higher than KGF. The film was promoted much better than KGF, yet it failed to garner the kind of response when compared to the south Indian films. The Christmas eve will help both the movies but still looking at the current figures, KGF will emerge as a winner. Stay tuned to know more about the two movies and do comment your views on them.
