KGF Chapter 2: Director Prashanth Neel revealed the reason for casting Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon
Recently, a press conference took place ahead of KGF Chapter 2 release. At this event the whole team of the film including Yash, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Srinidhi Shetty and the director Prashanth Neel were present.
During this press conference, one of the media reporters happened to ask the director about casting Bollywood stars in a regional film. To which Prashanth had a very surprising response. The director said, “When we were writing the film, Sanjay sir’s name we had already written before anyone when we started penning for chapter 2, we wanted somebody who is very powerful for the role of the Prime Minister. I wanted somebody who was proper Hindi speaking and somebody who has mass and we found the best mass Prime Minister that you’ll probably get to see.
To the director’s this response Raveena Tandon replied, “Mein jab Prashanth se mili thi tab KGF Chapter 1 just khatam hui thi, KGF 1 ke bare me mein itna sun chuki thi sabse ki koi goonjaish hi nhi hoti ki I cannot be a part of this, I had to be a part of this. Prashanth ke sath kaam karna is a dream come to true to have a team like this.
Not just that, another reporter asked the director his choice of preference when it comes to mass or class. Replying to this, the director said, “I try to make a mass movie first, I don’t make it classy, there is class when it comes to the design of the story.
Talking about the film, Releasing nationwide on April 14, 2022, in Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam, KGF Chapter 2 is written and directed by Prashanth Neel, one of the most sought-after directors, and produced by Vijay Kiragandur, under the Hombale Films banner. One of the emerging pan-India production houses, Hombale Films is set to showcase some of the biggest films in Indian cinema over the next two years, including the much-awaited film ‘Salaar’ starring Prabhas.
KGF Chapter 2 is being presented in North-Indian markets by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment and AA Films. Excel has given super hits like Dil Chahata Hai, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Dil Dhadakne Do, and Gully Boy to only name a few.
