This Friday, we have a few films releasing in the B Town; however, Kesari starring Akshay Kumar remained the big time film in the media. The film is based on the battle between Sikhs and Afghan invaders fought in the year 1897. The film had decent reviews and ratings; however, the kind of buzz the film should have created in the media was seen. This has hampered the occupancy and so the collection of the film. Also, the makers did not promote the way the film deserved. Despite falling in the war drama genre, the promotion has to be blamed for the low occupancy.
Now, if you check how the collection has gone for the film on the first day, it went low right from the morning show till it went at on the higher side. The occupancy in the morning shows went to around 15 to 20 per cent. And it went on to increase in the next shows in the evening and the night by increasing to 40 to 50 per cent. Thus as per reports, the first-day box office collection for Kesari went to score around 2.5 Crores. The experts feel that since it was a war genre film, it may not have attracted the audience; however, with positive word of mouth buzz the film can be back in business.
Thus they feel that the film would collect a higher collection in the first weekend reaching up to 15 to 18 Crores. However, today on the first day there does not seems to be any magic of Khiladi over the box office as compared to his previous releases. The other movies released today particularly Photograph had little impact over the collection since it has the lowest buzz and come in the category of short and documentary kind of film. However, with Luka Chuppi and Total Dhamaal still in the screens, the film Kesari is likely to face the competition.
