Is Adipurush Worth Your Time? Hear What Audiences Have to Say?

The highly anticipated magnum opus Adipurush, directed by Bollywood filmmaker Om Raut, has finally hit the theaters. Featuring Tollywood Rebel Star Prabhas, along with Bollywood actors Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan, among others, the film has garnered immense attention for its massive budget and top-notch visual effects.

Based on the epic tale of Ramayan, Adipurush has raised expectations due to its star-studded cast and the hype surrounding it. Interestingly, Prabhas, who is known for actively promoting his films, chose not to hold a press conference this time, suggesting that both the makers and the actors have great confidence in the movie’s box office prospects.

The film also obtained approvals from the governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to increase ticket prices by Rs 50, and early reports on advance booking have been encouraging.

The earliest shows in Telangana began at around 4 am. So, how does the movie fare? Is it worth watching? Let’s delve into the audience reaction and find out.

Taking to Twitter, @venkyreviews wrote, “#Adipurush Overall, it’s a retelling of the Ramayanam that had a promising first half but falls flat in the second half and ends up being tiresome towards the end! The first half focuses on the drama, which works, but the second half lacks substance other than a prolonged climax fight with poor visual effects. The music saves the film in many parts. It ends up being a mediocre watch. Prabhas portrays the role of Ram well, though it feels like he doesn’t have much screen time due to the prominence of other characters. Saif as Ravan is alright, but the characterization is a bit odd and very dark, sometimes going overboard. Kriti’s role as Sita is limited but well done. #Adipurush”

Regarding the film’s music, @venkyreviews added, “The music deserves a special mention as it carries the film in many places. However, the visual effects, particularly in action scenes, are very poor and cartoonish, making those scenes ineffective. The song ‘Huppa Huiya’ is cut from the film, and the second half could use more trimming.”

Another Twitter user, @ssmbworshipper, appreciated the film, stating, “#Adipurush Some movies shouldn’t be judged but just appreciated. Adipurush is that film for this modern world. Apart from the dragged second half, the movie has enough goosebumps moments for fans. Negatives: Visual effects are still half-baked. Positives: Screenplay, Music. Rating: 4/5”

@saiauraj143 praised the film’s second half and the performances of Prabhas and Kriti Sanon, saying, “Superb 2nd half. Fantastic performances from #Prabhas and @kritisanon as Raghavudu and Janaki. Hanuma, Sugriva, Lakshmana support and conquer Lanka. #Saif is terrific as Ravana, he is ferocious and no one can fulfill this role. Kudos to @omraut #Adipurush #JaiShreeRam”

@only_balayya commended certain frames in the climax and described the film as an epic story told in a tremendous way. They praised the main leads’ performances, the outstanding background music, and appreciated the Hanuman scenes.

With a personal opinion of 3.5/5, @only_balayya concluded, “#Adipurush”
