Kartik Aaryan Aims to Revive Aashiqui 3 Post Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3; Expresses Interest in Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety Sequel: Report

Kartik Aaryan is riding the wave of success following Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and is reportedly eager to revive the beloved Aashiqui franchise. Initially slated to star in Aashiqui 3 under the direction of Anurag Basu, Aaryan is now focused on re-establishing the film under the iconic franchise’s banner. Although the project was briefly renamed Tu Aashiqui Hai earlier this year due to a disagreement between T-Series and Vishesh Films, Aaryan’s recent triumph has reignited his belief in the franchise’s potential.

According to a report from Mid-day, a source stated, “The success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and 3 has reinforced Kartik’s conviction in the strength of film franchises. He has advised Bhushan to reach out to Mukesh Bhatt to secure the title. Kartik is confident that reviving the love story within the Aashiqui framework will give it a significant boost.”The Aashiqui franchise boasts a storied legacy, with the original 1990 film launching the careers of Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal, while the 2013 sequel, Aashiqui 2, featuring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor, became a massive hit both commercially and critically.However, the path to Aashiqui 3 is fraught with challenges. The ongoing dispute between T-Series and Vishesh Films regarding franchise rights could create complications.

Additionally, Anurag Basu’s packed schedule, which includes reshoots for Metro… In Dino, may push back the project timeline. Nevertheless, Aaryan is resolute in his commitment to revitalize the franchise, ensuring that the film is crafted with meticulous care and attention to detail. He is also exploring other franchise possibilities, including a potential sequel to his 2018 hit Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. “Anurag is already occupied with the Metro… In Dino reshoots. With this new development, the project is likely to commence next year. Kartik wants to have clarity on all fronts before stepping in front of the camera,” the source added.In the meantime, Aaryan is set to begin filming for Pati Patni Aur Woh 2 with director Mudassar Aziz.
