Karan Johar rings in his 50 with an ultimate yet lavish midnight party, check out inside photos, videos

Filmmaker Karan Johar turned 50 today and the filmmaker is all set to host a grand birthday bash at the Yash Raj Studios. The industry’s who’s who are expected to attend.

Karan, however, began the celebration with an intimate party at his home on Wednesday night. Gauri Khan, Manish Malhotra, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, Ayan Mukerji, Farah Khan, Apoorva Mehta, Maheep Kapoor, and others attended the bash.

Guests have shared photos and videos from the party on social media. Farah Khan shared a video of Karan posing inside his massive walk-in closet, along with some amusing jokes. “You want to come inside my closet?” Karan asked, and Farah shot back, “You want to come out of your closet?” “Been there, done that,” Karan replied.

Designer Manish Malhotra shared a few videos from the event, showcasing the opulent decor. Manish’s videos featured a lavish dinner table set with silver cutlery, white flowers, and intricate candlestands. A view of the Mumbai skyline served as the backdrop. He tagged Karan in his twitter post, “The most beautiful setting tonight.” He, like Maheep Kapoor, posted a video with the ‘birthday boy.’

Maheep also posted a video of the decorated apartment, as well as a photo of Karan’s spectacular three-tier birthday cake and the menu, which included lamb shanks, roast chicken, and spinach and tofu salad.

Karan is best known for directing Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. His Dharma Productions label has given so many hits such as Raazi, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Shershaah, and Gehraiyaan. He’s getting ready to release JugJugg Jeeyo next month. He is also working on major films such as Brahmastra and Liger.
