Kapil Sharma replies to a troll who claims he is attempting to ‘butter’ CM Bhagwant Mann
The television’s ‘comedy king’ Kapil Sharma, who is famed for his quick wit and comic timing, was recently criticised for praising Punjab’s new chief minister, Bhagwant Mann.
Bhagwant Mann uploaded a video on the occasion of Shaheedi Diwas, in which he discussed the establishment of the anti-corruption helpline. Posting the clip, he wrote, “On the occasion of Shaheedi Diwas, we are launching an anti-corruption helpline. If someone asks you for bribe, send me its audio/video recording on 9501200200. We will take strict action against the corrupts. Corruption free Punjab will be a true tribute to our freedom fighters”
Kapil Sharma praised the new CM of Punjab for this initiative as he quoted his tweet and wrote, “So proud of you paji” along with hug, heart, and applause emojis. However, a trolled targeted the Firangi actor for his appreciation and tweeted, “हरभजन की तरह राज्यसभा के टिकट के लिए मक्खन लगा रहे हो क्या । (Are you also buttering him up for a Rajya Sabha seat like Harbhajan).”
The comedian and actor gave an epic reply to the troll as he too responded in Hindi, “बिलकुल नहीं मित्तल साहब, बस इतना सा ख़्वाब है कि देश तरक़्क़ी करे ? बाक़ी आप कहो तो आपकी नौकरी की लिए कहीं बात करूँ ? (Not at all Mittal sir (the social media user’s name), my small dream is that the country should progress (folded hands emoji). If you want, I can ask for a job for you).
For those unfamiliar with Bhagwant Mann’s background, he began his career as a comedian and satire before moving into politics. After taking part in the Great Indian Laughter Challenge, he became well-known. Kapil Sharma, a stand-up comedian, won the third season of the same stand-up comedy show.
While his stint on The Kapil Sharma Show has earned him acclaim, the comedian is making his Bollywood comeback with Nandita Das’ upcoming film. Kapil will play the role of a food delivery rider in the untitled film. Applause Entertainment is behind the film, which also stars Shahana Goswami in the pivotal role.
