Kantara gets victory in a plagiarism case, Rishab Shetty to revise Varaha Roopam on OTT

Kantara, Rishab Shetty’s ambitious project, is constantly making as well as breaking records, setting a new milestones in the industry. As we all know, a Kerala-based band ‘Thaikkudam Bridge’ has accused the makers of plagiarism. They stated that the song ‘Varaha Roopam’ from the movie is a replica of their song, Navarasam.

While they started the battle with an Instagram post stating their allegations, they later moved to court to seek the removal of the ‘Varaha Roopam’ song from the movie. The two complaints filed against the movie’s production house Hombale Films have been relaxed. The director and actor of the film, Rishab Shetty, has also shared this good news via a tweet.

The report from Live Law states that this case was filed in Palakkad and Kozhikode district courts. The complaint lodged in Kozhikode was cancelled on the condition that it would be submitted to the commercial court. On the other hand, the complaint lodged in the Palakkad district was removed stating the lack of authority to take decisions.

Rishab Shetty shared this news via his Twitter on Saturday and wrote in the Kannada language, “With the blessings of God and people’s love, we have finally achieved victory over the Varaha Roopam case. We are gonna change the song on the OTT platform soon as per people’s request(sic).”

Kantara is unstoppable at the box office

Kantara was released on Amazon Prime Video last month. However, the song Varaha Roopam was axed from the movie owing to plagiarism conflicts.

The film is doing wonders in theatres with around 400 crores worldwide collection and has become the highest-earning film so far in Karnataka
