Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Thalaivi’ to be released in cinemas first

Kangana Ranaut

All news reports and speculations claiming to premiere Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Thalaivi’ on OTT platforms have been dispensed with.

The film critic took to social media to put a stop to the speculation of the film’s online release, a biopic by political stalwart Jayalalithaa.

News articles sold on the film’s online video streaming OTT platform were in the news for a few days. Now they have said that the film will be released in the first extravaganza. The true news of OTT release is unfounded.

Recently, Kangana was working on Jayalalithaa’s biopic ‘Thalaivi’ when the lock down was announced and now the film’s producers are facing some serious damage.

According to a report, manufacturers are incurring a loss of Rs 5 crore in the form of maintenance costs and studio rent of the set amidst the current situation.

Thalaivi’s team had allegedly built the Parliament House at Hyderabad Studios for a 45-day shoot and the team did not shoot for a single day on the set.

The producers are now waiting for the lockdown to end, after which they will be able to finish the outdoor shoot. Team Thalaivi is ready to shoot before the rains as they have an outdoor set – which will be ruined and expensive to rebuild.

The Kangana Ranaut starrer film was scheduled to be released in theaters on June 26, 2020, but the daylight could not be seen due to the shuttering of movie halls due to an outbreak of coronovirus in the country.
