Of late, biopic movies have been the ruling trends in B Town. With the biopic of the painter – Raja Ravi Varma in the form of Rang Rasiya, Ketan Mehta has now embarked with another biopic called Begum Akhtar. Ketan is now gearing up for his next biopic venture of the popular Ghazal and Thumri singer called Begum Akhtar. The director has decided the lead cast for the film wherein Kangana Ranaut plays the Begam and Irrfan Khan plays the male lead actor, while A R Rahman is roped for the music.
Though there are loads of confusion about the main lead for the film but the end of the day, it went to the court of Kangana Ranaut. When Kangana was asked about the role, she seemed excited about the same and claimed that she was brought up while listening to the legendary singer and thus idolises her as well. She went on saying that she wanted to do such kinds of role and blessed to get the same. She went on saying that Rita Ganguly who she has learnt a lot has been the student of Begam Akhtar whom she denoted like Ammi. Rita has been aware of the ups and downs Begam had witnessed in her life, which she is going to update Kangana for the role.
