Kamaal R Khan gets bailed on the molestation case but will be kept in jail. Deets Inside
Kamaal R Khan is lucky to get bailed on his molestation case, but that does not end his problems. According to reports, the court has granted bail to KRK in a 2021 molestation case. It was registered against him in the Versova police station in the Mumbai suburbs.
But that doesn’t mean he is out of jail. The actor will be kept in custody as his bail request for the 2020 case on his controversial tweets is still under consideration. The actor had made a disrespectful statement against actor Akshay Kumar and filmmaker Ram Gopal Verma. He also made a bad comment in public against the late actor Rishi Kapoor.
KRK’s bail plea will be heard probably in Mumbai’s metropolitan magistrate court in Borivali today, i.e. on Wednesday.
On August 30, Kamaal R Khan was arrested straight from Mumbai’s international airport for his disrespectful and defaming tweets and was kept in custody by the Borivali Magistrate court’s decision.
The Versova Police freed him from the custody of a molestation case this Sunday while he was brought in front of the judge in Bandra Court.
KRK’s bail request was filed by his lawyers Ashok Sarogi and Jay Yadav in Bandra Magistrate court, asserting that the details in the FIR report and accusations of molestation were practically different.
At the insistence of her friend, Advocate Jay Yadav presented a statement in front of the court which says that the victim registered an FIR 18 months after the incident and at her friend’s insistence. He further appealed for bail, calling the case bailable as per the Indian penal code. That’s why the court went ahead and accepted Khan’s bail plea.
A 27-year-old woman lodged this FIR in June 2021 under Section 354-A and 509. She stated that Kamaal R Khan called her to his Versova bungalow, saying he would offer her a lead role in his film. When she went there, he spiked her drink and touched her inappropriately.
Mumbai Police spoke about the 2020 controversial tweets by KRK, calling them communal and targeted at Bollywood personalities. For this, he was charged under sections 153 and 500 as per the rules of the IPC and IT Act.
