Alia Bhatt to Sonam Kapoor, times when these star kids made extremely arrogant statements that were not ignored

Numerous opinions have been expressed in the never-ending discussion of nepotism in Bollywood by both outsiders and star children.

While some believe that nepotism occurs not only in Bollywood but in other industries as well, others are adamantly opposed to how it favors a certain group of actors over others.

Star kids’ comments on practically everything are frequently misrepresented to support a false narrative about nepotism. Star kids have occasionally said things that are incredibly tone-deaf and brash, yet it can be difficult to ignore them.

Here are a few celebrity children who have said some of the most haughty things that scream entitlement and privilege:

Sonam Kapoor:

Sonam Kapoor is notorious for making divisive remarks about other actors and disparaging others in the business.

Her opinion on nepotism, however, is difficult to see in an awkward and cringe-inducing interview with Rajkumar Rao when she talks about “struggling” to help Sanjay Leela Bhansali while casually mentioning other directors she had access to, such Subhash Ghai and Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

She also made another tone-deaf comment about the subject on Arbaaz Khan’s chat show, Pinch: “Everybody thinks that it’s a relative of a person. Nepotism actually means to get a job through any connection. I think people have misunderstood it or are using the word for their own benefit, to put other people down. My father didn’t come from an illustrious family. He has worked in the industry for 40 years and he has worked really hard only for his children and if I don’t take advantage of his hard work, which he has done for us, I think that will be a little disrespectful towards his work because every man or a woman, a mother or a father works for their children.”

Alia Bhatt:

In an interview with Mid-Day while promoting Brahmastra, Alia addressed the nepotism controversy and repeated the opinions of her mentor, Karan Johar:

“I can’t keep defending myself verbally. And if you don’t like me, don’t watch me. I can’t help it. That’s something I can’t do [anything about].”

Ananya Panday:

In 2020, Chunky Panday’s daughter gained notoriety for making a tone-deaf comment on the advantages of being a celebrity child. She uttered:

“I have always wanted to be an actor. Just because my dad has been an actor, I will never say no to an opportunity to act. My dad has never been in a Dharma film, he never went on Koffee With Karan. So, it’s not as easy as people say. Everyone has their own journey and their own struggle.”

Janhvi Kapoor

Janhvi Kapoor was questioned about her criteria for choosing movies while promoting her latest movie, Mili. When asked if she chose certain parts to showcase her acting talent to the public by host Siddharth Kanan, Janhvi replied as follows: “Sir ye duniya ke baare main itna hai nahi. Of course, main acting karti hun to give the audiences an experience. But I do it because mere liye yahi exciting hai. If it’s not challenging, phir main apne kala main aagey kaise badh rahi hun?…Famous hone ke liye nahi kar rahi, kaafi paps aajate hain gym ke bahar, hun main famous..”
