EXCLUSIVE: John Abraham debriefs his character and the making of Attack!

Recently in an interview with Cine Talkers, Bollywood actor John Abraham briefly discussed his upcoming film Attack. Not just about his film but the actor also talked about his production house. John said, “I don’t talk good about my films much. But I will tell you about this film, and you will remember my words after watching the film. Attack is a 1 hours 46 minutes film. The first half is about set up and the second half is all about climax. It’s like boom! My director is a very young guy. He said to me that I don’t want people to waste their time playing with their mobiles or something else while watching the film. I want the film so fast and so different that I want people to be hooked. I think, hopefully, he has achieved that with this film.

“This is not a regular film. Attack is made very differently. First my music director created music, then the sound designer created sound, and then we shot the film. We have completely reversed the process. I gave complete freedom to my director, music director, sound designer and action director to do what they wanted to do, and that helped during the shoot. It’s a completely different process, and I think it has come together very smartly, and it’s really good,” he added.

Ellaborating more about his varient of action films, he stated, “In the art of modern warfare today, the rules of engagement have changed. We want to make sure there is as much less collateral damage in the world as possible which is why we wanted to do an action film with a difference because we have done many action films … Action can be different, we can be different… When I say we, I mean the Entertainment production house.”

He further said, “We wanted to make something very unique. The action has to have a unique selling proposition and we thought of a concept of a super soldier… I was inspired and we have given credit to that person in the film — a civilian called Nathan in the US who is paraplegic and got a chip in his brain.”

John Abraham also talked about the ongoing regular commercial films. He shared, “I’m making something that is relevant today. It is not completely fictional; it is relevant today in India. If Hollywood can make it, why can’t India? I am not saying that we are that good, but it is my humble attempt to make India proud. I think people should support this kind of cinema because if you don’t, then we will belt out the same old crap you are seeing. And that’s the last thing we want to do.”
